Thursday night rocketry

Still working toward 18-19 March deadline for the next UROC launch.  Got the charge wells (fancy name for thingy to hold black powder to push out the parachutes) and attached them to the AVBay for the trio of big rockets.  The nearly complete AVBay for a smaller rocket is next to it for comparison.

Still waiting on a few more things, like crimping tool for the electronics and forged eye bolts to replace the ones that were originally supplied.

Mine didn’t look anything like the picture

So, after hearing an ad for Blue Apron on the radio during the drive to work, I figured I’d check it out.

Seems pretty cool, neat menu choices that I’d probably never make myself.  But, at $10 per serving per person, it’s a little spendy.  See other posts about all the $ going into the house.  Plus, I’m the kind of customer they love, who would start the free trial, then forget to cancel and have meals continue to pile up.  Meals that in all likelihood I would be the only one to eat.

They do, however, publish their recipes!  I decided to try Spinach Risotto with Fried Leek and Mascarpone  Click the link to see their picture.

It’s an interesting recipe.  Despite a stop at the store on the way home specifically for this recipe, I still had to make a lot of substitutions, which I’m sure affected the outcome.

I give this recipe 4 out of 5 (stars, thumbs up, hairballs – whatever).  Having made it once, I think I could do a much better job the second time.

I tried a vegetarian recipe on the off chance that either of the girls might enjoy it.  There was much making of faces and refusal to taste.

Yep, I was pretty much the same as a kid.  Go figure.

Anywho, they have some cool-looking recipes that I am looking forward to trying.

Plus, I have some Mascarpone cheese leftover so I can try this.
